COURSE DESCRIPTION:
The Hand of Ifá, also known as Isefá, refers to the ritual within the practice of Ifá that marks an individual’s entry into the realm of Ifá worship. It is a significant step in one’s spiritual journey and a means of establishing a deeper connection with the Orishas and the wisdom of Ifa.
The purpose of Isefá is multifaceted. It serves as a rite of passage, signifying an individual’s commitment to the Ifá tradition and their willingness to embrace its teachings. Through Isefá, one becomes a student of Ifá, embarking on a lifelong journey of self-discovery, personal growth, and spiritual development.
The Hand of Ifá, or Isefa, is a physical representation of the initiate’s commitment to Ifá and their connection to the divine. The components of the Hand of Ifa, represent the initiate’s connection to the divine, their commitment to the Ifá tradition, and their willingness to embrace the wisdom of Ifá.
By receiving Isefa, individuals gain access to the wisdom and blessings of the Orishas, enabling them to navigate life’s challenges with clarity and confidence. It enhances their spiritual connection and opens the door to divine communication, allowing them to seek guidance and receive insights from the Orishas through divination.

Chief Awodele Ifayemi comes from a long lineage of Traditional Ifa Babalawos. He is the Mayegun Awo of Ilobu land, Osun State, Nigeria. Chief Awodele Ifayemi is an Oloye and a member of the Ifatoogun House of prestigious Babalawos. He is also a recognized member in good standing of the Ilobu Council Of Ifa Practitioners of Ilobu, Osun State, Nigeria, and the publisher of the site ileifa.org.
