Differences.
How simple a word, yet how much it has divided our humanity.
Is it in our nature to judge a person by the color of their skin and not their character?
I submit that it is not; just observe the children, and see that they do not distinguish color or race. They just play, and accept. However; society teaches them to differentiate based on race, gender, and color, and this instruction begins at home; via their parents. How far reaching is this discrimination? How far have we taken this impulse to discriminate based on differences?
Santeria, Ifa, Candumble, Palo, Voodoo, etc., such diversiveness….
The minute we can agree that we are all children of one GOD, then we can start accepting that what separates us is not the color of our skin nor our facial features, nor our race or gender. No, the only thing that separates us is our own ignorance, and fear.
If I learned to glorify GOD standing on one foot, and you do it while standing on your head, who is to say I’m right and you are wrong?
We are both glorifying our GOD, and neither of us is wrong, it is just the way we where taught, but if you have found that your way is not working for you and upon adopting my way you are now able to connect to GOD, it does not mean that those who continue to connect with GOD the way you use to are now in the wrong, and you are in the right.
This need to make them wrong and “us” right has to stop!
There is no one right way of connecting with GOD!
The right way is the way that works for you!
I call my GOD Olodumare, you may call your GOD by a different name. Are you right, and I’m wrong?
What is the answer?
The answer is “IT DOES NOT MATTER”
GOD, by whichever name you call upon him or her is still GOD, and your prayers will be fulfilled one way or the other.
I pray that you stop judging people by the color of their skin, race , accent, or gender. Get to know the person and let their actions judge the person’s character.
