Alaafia;

Your quest is admirable, and yours shall be the delightful splendor of "Truth".

Regarding your questions, I would recommend the series of books entitled "Yorùbá Theology And Tradition". You can find them in this site's product page -> http://ileifa.org/products-page/

Again, thank you for your kind words, and may your quest be rewarded.

Alaafia;

Thank you for visiting and for your comment.

In as much as an utterance is a natural unit of speech bounded by breaths or pauses, you would be well within the definition if one is to consider that ese ifa is a beautiful and poetic for of expression which our ancestors have incorporated to not only convey "Truth" but to help us memorize them.

Once again, I am highly impressed with your indepth knowledge of the Odus. You truly, understood the rudimentary facts behind it. Good job! By the way, you indicated that: "Odú is the oracular utterance of the spirits" Are the Odus really, utterances?

I am highly impressed with your website. Undoubtedly, you are one of the truly-endowed diviners, and not one of the Jeun-jeuns (or the ar'ebipas) that are tarnishing Yoruba's name, good image, culture and tradition all over the world. I am neither a Babalawo nor omo-ese Ifa but an endowed diviner. My recent discoveries on Ifa-Orunmila's ways have prompted the following questions: How are Ori, Ipin and Odu differ? How many Odus (primary and secondary) does Ifa truly, have? Does Ifa-Orunmila "religion" qualify to be called a religion or just the Yoruba's traditional way?

I look forward to read from you.

Thank you.

Sublime

Adding this to some wonderful definitions of Odu I am compiling.I am posting them in my Facebook notes.My Facebook name is Toyin Adepoju.

I wish you and other babalawo can tell the world about your personal,intimate experiences with Ifa.It would also be most helpful to know your mental processes when interacting with Odu.

The Nature Of The Odu Ifa...

The Odù are regarded as divinities in their own right. Odú hold the answers to all of life's questions and collectively they become the eternal compass that directs and redirects one on their journey...
